As a parent of an adopted daughter, I want to show my support to others who are pursuing adoption. I know first hand how expensive adoption is. It is really sad that it is such a financial burden. When we started our own adoption journey, we were given an estimate of $30K that it would cost to adopt from China. We knew we did not have it, but trusted that God would provide it for us and He did. The first $15K was spent in our first 9 months with homestudy and paperwork submissions. As an accountant, I am good with numbers. We don't typically have ~$2K left over each month. I wish I could say thank you to friends and family who helped us financially with our adoption costs, but we did not receive any financial support from anyone. God did not need their help. Not only did God provide the $15K we needed in the first 9 months, He also provided the remaining $15K saved in the bank for the rest of our adoption costs we would encounter later. Kevin and I have great jobs, but we do not make enough to have $30K left over in a year. God truly stretched our funds in a way that even as a CPA I cannot figure out. For us, this confirmed God's calling for us and our blessing for being obedient.
I say all that to say, God can do amazing things. I feel he will provide for those called to adopt. My heart is also sensitive to the calling to also financially help and support these families as well. Our friends Rob and Jennifer Carr, who I would really consider family, are pursuing adopting a three year girl from the Dominica Republic. They are facing a tremendous financial burden. I wanted to let all my readers be aware of their site (www.eatprayadopt.com) and encourage you to help them. They are selling cookbooks, puzzle pieces, and more to come. Out of my own gratitude for what I know God did for us, I want to help fulfill other's call to adopt. Please read their story and pray for how God may lead you to help their family.

I have a friend who wants to adopt and I keep telling her to trust in the Lord and he will provide. I can't tell you how many stories I have heard now where families did not have the money, but the Lord provided what was needed to cover the cost.
