Anna Kate had her one year post surgery appointment. She had additional lab work and examination by the surgeon. We got a good report and do not have to go back for a year.
AK weighs 27.6 lbs and 34" tall. She continues to be a great eater. Her vocabulary continues to grow and she is putting sentences together. She really picks up Bennett's phrases and mimics things he says and does. I am thankful he is a good example for her. She has such a sweet voice and I love to hear her sing songs. She even hums the MSU fight song.
We are still having snotty nose issues. We had a short break from mid February till April and mid May. I have not contacted the doctor since I will be taking Bennett in June for his checkup. She is going great sleeping at night. We have started experiencing the "terrible twos" with her. She has gotten into a phase of wanting to be held when we are out. Not really possible with a 27 lb child. She will lay herself flat on the floor until you pick her up. It always seems to be at a public restaurant which is not embarrassing at all. Sometimes you can distract her with something she wants to do and other times you have to leave and give her a time out. I just try to ignore all the stares we get. Next time I see another parent going through this, I will not blame the parent.
We recently got the sandbox out and filled with sand. This was AK's first experience with sand and I was amazed at how much she loved it. She sat and played in it for over 1 1/2 hours. I personally hate sand because it sticks to you and gets everywhere. I am getting better at letting go of my sand issues after seeing how much fun she had. I will try to remember to take pictures next time to share.
