We heard back on AK's MRI. The neurologist called me and the MRI confirmed what he had thought. AK does not have spina bifida. This is such a huge praise. When we got AK's referral this was the biggest concern. We were told she may not be able to walk or control her bladder. She walks, runs, and climbs, so no issues there. I believe she is going to be easy to potty train since she already tells me when she needs to have a diaper change.
The pelvic MRI showed the mass which seems to be the interior portion of the sacral tumor she was born with. It seems that only the exterior portion was removed. I heard from the general surgeon today and they want AK to have a CT scan. So July 11th, AK will go under anesthesia again for the CT scan. Then we have an appointment July 12th with the doctor to discuss what needs to be done with the tumor. I really don't know if she will have surgery or wait or what, but least we will have all our answers..... I hope.
