Uncovering AK's past

I feel very fortunate to have received many reports on AK with our referral and following the acceptance of her referral.  We received her records from doctors, reports from nannies, and state of growth evaluations while we waited to travel.  One of the inconsistencies we found in her records related to where AK was staying.  We had been told she was at Puyang City Social Welfare Institute.  This was also the place we had the address for to send her gifts.  However, in her one year report it mentioned her being at Maria's Big House of Hope.  We were surprised by this, but excited to know she was at a place we knew and knew she was being well taken care of.  We assumed that she was there while going to the doctor.

Since coming back to US, Kevin started looking into Maria's Big House of Hope website.  He was able to find two pictures of AK, who they labeled Joy II.  For one of the pictures she was listed with a few other kids with the statement that they were being returned to the orphanage for adoption.  This was dated March 2013.  The other photo was from Christmas Eve.  From finding this, Kevin made contact with MBHOH.  We learned that AK had been at MBHOH since she was a week old till March 27, 2013.  They also had a baby picture of her that they sent us (see below).  They were not aware that she had been adopted.  They are also going to pull all their records on her to send to us which may take some time.  This is such an amazing come of events.  God's hand is always present and seems to be instrumental in the AK's life.  It reminds me of Jeremiah 29:11.  I am very thankful to God that he answered my prayers over the last few years that AK was well taken care of and loved.  This is evident by looking at how healthy and smart she is.

Here are the two sites where we found AK's picture.
