Kevin and I had looked into Chinese adoption over three years ago. Since that time, China has changed many of the requirements as well as the length of time to receive your referral has increased to over 3+ years.
Due to these changes, I did a lot of research into many different countries such as Russia, Nepal, Kazakhstan, and South Korea. There were positives and negatives to each of these countries. Although some of these countries were appealing due to the shorter referral time, I just did not have a peace about it.
Knowing I had waited over 3+ years for a child, I really did not like the wait that was going to be involved in adopting from China. After much prayer, God revealed the below scriptures to me about waiting.
Ps. 38:15 "I wait for you, O Lord; you will answer, O Lord my God."
Rom 8:25 "But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently."
Ps. 5:3 "In the morning, O Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation."
Ps. 33:20 "We wait in hope for the Lord; he is our help and our shield."
I firmly believe God has led us to this decision. In spite of knowing the long wait time, I have an undeniable peace that this is what we are suppose to do.
This blog will be dedicated to documenting our process, thoughts, and prayers. Please post comments of your own thoughts and prayers for us. I would love to have them and be able to share all this with our precious child.
